Correct installation of the planetary gearbox is the single biggest factor in achieving the design service life. Follow the steps below, in order. Skipping or compressing any step usually shows up as oil leak, premature bearing failure, or noise within the first season.

How do I choose the right gear ratio for my tractor and implement?

Match the ratio to the rotor or output speed your implement is designed for. As a rule of thumb, divide your tractor PTO speed (540 or 1000 RPM) by the implement’s required input speed — that gives you the target reduction or step-up. For a wheel-drive planetary, ratios in the 1:20 – 1:80 range are most common. The standard warranty is 12 months from the shipment date covering manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.
